After Christmas, came the European Piano Teachers Association Piano Competition. Congratulations to Mattias, who secured a place in the Regional Finals and then achieved second place in the Regional Final Intermediate Class, performing two of his Grade 5 pieces. I am delighted!
Looking ahead, the annual European Piano Teachers Association UK composing event is not far away and I am encouraging pupils to continue being creative. Several have already started ice-cream inspired piano pieces! Over the years many of my pupils entered the competition for pupils and it has been a good experience all round, providing a sense of achievement. This is something everyone can do, though it does take time and needs to be planned as part of the lessons, so please do let me know if you are interested before the end of the March.
Spring Concert 2019On Sunday May 12th I am inviting all my pupils and their families to join me for a pupil's concert where we can share our love of music and the piano! The event will take place at St George's Church in Esher and will start at 2.30pm. It will be an opportunity to perform, share favourite pieces and perhaps a composition too! I will send all the information you need to know in a separate email.
