Kingston Music festival is very soon, so listen to a few performances from some of my pupils who are taking part:
Minne Mouse Hits Town by Lucy Furber
Pastorale by Amelia
Summer Swing by Amy
This term, some pupils are learning how to play chord accompaniments on the piano. Here are a couple of recordings to inspire you to try it too!
Iris - the piano part is arranged and performed by Lucy Parfitt. She is also singing the song by the group the Goo-Goo Dolls
Thinking of Me - Kate learnt the chords and created the accompaniment so she could play along with the Olly Murs track.
The books, Supersonics, by Daniel McFarlane are still very popular with his great blend of contemporary styles. He has a new set of backing tracks available for Book 1. Here's Susannah's performance of Feel the Beat with the backing track - sounds great!
