The yearly challenge is up and running again! Just as in previous years I'm using the 30 piece challenge to improve reading fluency, explore different styles of music and above all make sure everyone plays plenty of music. To stay organised I have a rather compact library on my wall full of sheet music! This is the perfect way to use the library of digital music I have stored on my laptop and have a studio licence for. Here's how it works:
Although the emphasis is on pieces that can be learnt within a week or two, other repertoire pieces pupils are working on will be added to the challenge card. It's good to have a mixture of pieces being learnt both in level and genre. I'm especially looking forward to having a few weeks of duets - one of my musical passions! Here are a couple of sites that are great for stocking up on sheet music and which have featured during the first part of term: supersonics piano pianobookclub susanparadis The stamp card this year is thanks to Wendy Stevens at composecreate.com and replaces the piano loyalty card I have used in previous years.
