Summer Holiday Challenge!
Download a sheet, choose from the activities and fill in as many flavours as you can! As usual, try to complete as much as possible and earn a treat! Below are ideas and links to resources to help you complete your challenges:
Favourite pieceTake a look through your pieces and play a star piece or find an old piece of music you love to play.
|
Finish a piece
Take a piece you have been leaning and complete it or polish a piece with wonderful dynamics!
|
PerformPlay 3 favourite pieces to any visitors you have during the summer. Or you could arrange a summer concert for friends, pets or even teddies! Write down in your box what you played and who to.
|
RecordingChoose a piece you know you play well and enjoy and make a recording of yourself. If you have time, email it to me and I'll upload it to soundcloud!
|
ChordsIf you're not sure how to work out chords, try this sheet. You can
use your knowledge of chords to make an accompaniment to a well known song using a tab sheet on guitar-tab. Or go to hook theory and use the demos and sheets to play along to a favourite song. New PieceChoose a new piece from a book you have or explore the internet for some new sheet music. Go to my links page to find a list of great sites. You can find some wonderful pieces composed by fellow pupils on my compositions page - all the sheet music is available to download.
TheoryFor theory you can complete some pages in your theory book or go to my links page to find a whole variety of music games to play. Don't forget to record your score and which game you played on your sheet.
DuetI have saved pdf and audio files of the five finger duets on this page. Choose one to practice so we can play together when you come for your first lesson of the Autumn term. If you have a willing piano partner, I'm happy to email both parts so you can play together. Remember these have easy top parts, but sound really good when played together. You can also find some duets on this site.
ScalesYou can print off a variety of picture scales to learn from Susan Paradis. You don't need to print all the pages - be careful! Go to beginners scales or Initial and then higher grade scales.
